On the weekend of September 13 and 14, 2025, Hohnsensee was once again transformed into a lively journey back in time to the Middle Ages. Merchants, jugglers, musicians, and brave warriors offered a colorful program that captivated visitors of all ages.
On Saturday, the sounds of Klanginferno, Duo Lautensang, Insanis Daemonibus, and Lycanthropia filled the market, while children enjoyed themselves with Kveldúlfur’s Skalen, MitMachMärchen, and squire training. Highlights of the day included Die Schlacht am See (The Battle of the Lake) and lectures by Dragal, who provided exciting insights into medieval cartography and the medieval worldview. In the evening, a market parade once again made its way across the grounds before the grand fire show by IgnisLibra and Zacharias, the
Fire Mercenaries, transformed the lakeside square into a sea of flames.
On Sunday, visitors were also transported back to medieval times by historical dance performances. The popular battle on the lake was also reenacted.
With a successful mix of music, knowledge, martial arts, and family activities, the medieval market at Hohnsensee offered two days full of atmosphere and discoveries—a festival that will surely remain in the memories of many visitors for a long time to come.
